Artfractures Quarterly: Spring Issue. Download now… pdf size appx 2.2 Mb

This quarter includes a fascinating article by Dr. Matt Bowman on the distinction between the discipline of art history and the practice of art criticism and a beautiful art historical essay “The goods of friends are common”: Pythagorean Theorems and Renaissance Ideals of Friendship in Holbein’s The Ambassadors by Ramesh Ramsahoye and John Finlay. Following this is a review of the book My Name is Charles Saatchi and I am an Artaholic by Martin Boland.

We also feature the work of three fascinating artists, Lan Yuan-Hung, Kimsooja and Stephen Carley. The new change to our journal is the adaptation of the film review section into a film theory section under the guidance of Sam Ishii-Gonzales and features his essay La Caméra-Stylo Today: David Lynch’s Inland Empire.

The Quarterly wishes to thank all those who continue to support us at artfractures. We hope you enjoy this issue as much as we have enjoyed making it and encourage you to pass on the edition to anyone you feel may gain pleasure and interest from it.
