Initially working as a performance artist, Andrew Drummond is one of New Zealands leading sculptors. Notions of transformation are central to his practice which often involves making intricate machines.

Drummond says of these pieces that ‘I became interested in the idea of making a machine that would do the work of the body. Our bodies are designed to do the same things, but each individual body does things quite differently’.
